Mental Health Treatment Planning for Queer/Trans Youth
Queer and trans/nb/gnc youth are over-represented within mental health treatment. Best practices often focus on treatments that target the individual and empower personal resilience. While that is important, it does not address the root of queer trans youth mental health issues. This presentation will examine and address how environmental factors (interpersonal, familial, societal, cultural) manifest as mental health symptoms in individuals and how this impacts effective treatment planning.
June 6- West Chesterfield, NH
June 13- Stowe, VT
The Intersection of Autism and Gender
Autism and gender are typically understood on spectrums, and importantly, there is a significant overlap within the intersection of people who are autistic and trans/non-binary/gender non-conforming. This presentation will dive deeper into this identity intersection – the prevalence, hypothesis for this co-occurrence, and how these identities interact within one another. The presentation will focus on how these identities complement one another and participants will learn specific clinical interventions.
June 7- Manchester, VT
June 16- Burlington,VT
