Gregg Mason, BA
Operations Support
Gregg (he /him /his) grew up in central Vermont, and cultivated interests in hiking and rock climbing from a young age. He was inspired by mountains and wilderness guiding opportunities out west, and moved to Colorado to pursue his BA in Outdoor Recreation from Western Colorado University. Through college, Gregg gained a wide range of outdoor recreation experience including a Seven Summits mountaineering expedition. Gregg returned to Vermont to guide rock and ice climbing tours, backpacking, white water rafting and mountain biking trips.
Gregg climbed competitively in college and took that passion for indoor and outdoor climbing to coach a youth climbing team in California. He also launched his first business, which specialized in manufacturing indoor climbing holds. After years of leading private clients on outdoor adventures and growing his business, Gregg transitioned to sales, dealer services, customer experience and marketing roles for brands within the outdoor industry.
Gregg is Operations Support at True North. In this role, Gregg blends expertise from managing his own business, with an acute awareness for outdoor safety. He supports day to day operations and safety of the students. Gregg lives in the Mad River Valley with his wife and two daughters. Outside of True North Gregg enjoys running on local trail networks, mountain biking and backpacking. Gregg and his family can often be found on the Mad River at the nearest local swimming hole during the summer or skiing in the winter.
