Nate (he/him/his) grew up on the Seacoast of New Hampshire.  Growing up he spent much of his time hiking, exploring, skiing and enjoying New Hampshire’s White Mountains, developing a passion for the outdoors.  Nate led hiking, backpacking, and canoeing trips through the White Mountains in New Hampshire for adolescents attending summer camps.  He also became an Outdoor Living Instructor where he taught primitive survival skills and nature lessons.

Nate received a Bachelors in Science in Outdoor Studies: Environment from the University of Cumbria in the United Kingdom.  While there he lived in, studied and explored the Lake District National Park located 20 miles south of the Scottish border.  Nate hiked, rock climbed, bicycled, backpacked, and canoed throughout the UK and Europe.

Nate participated in conservation work, surveying local flora in the Picos de Europa National Park in northern Spain as well as researching deer populations at Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve in northern Scotland. Nate also volunteered in facilitating therapeutic outcomes for underprivileged and disabled youth through team building and low ropes activities in the UK.

Upon his return to the United States, Nate joined the True North team as a guide. After many years in the field he was promoted to field director, and then Program Director, bringing his extensive field experience and outdoor educator background to our administrative leadership team. Nate enjoys exploring the Green Mountains while hiking, skiing, canoeing, climbing, and traveling with his wife.
