Kelly Webster, BA
Director of Admissions
Kelly Webster (she/her/hers) is originally from York, Pennsylvania though she now calls the Connecticut Shoreline her home. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Juniata College and went on to pursue master’s coursework in Special Education at Southern Connecticut State University. Kelly began her career as a dorm counselor and teacher at a therapeutic boarding school.
Over the next 20 years, her roles would include Residential Administrator, Admissions Director, Director of Outreach, and Associate Executive Director. Kelly had the opportunity to develop and facilitate outdoor adventure excursions to ski, kayak, sail and rock climb throughout New England, the Caribbean and beyond. Growing up somewhat “indoorsy,” it was both a challenge and a tremendous gift for Kelly to lead groups of adolescents and young adults on these adventure trips which sparked her love of the outdoors and an appreciation of its ability to affect growth and change.
Many of her students had attended wilderness therapy programs, and Kelly had the opportunity to see first-hand the healing power of those experiences. True North always stood out as the premier program for professionalism, commitment to family work, and clinical acumen. She is humbled by the opportunity to be the first contact for families and students on this incredible journey.
Kelly is a natural connector and uses her warmth and compassion to guide students and families on a path of hope. She also connects with other professionals by serving as an elected board member of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP) and presenting on topics including nutrition, milieu treatment and parenting strategies at national conferences and at boarding and day schools.
She and her husband are proud to be raising two strong-willed daughters to love cooking, skiing, paddle boarding and exploring the coastline and mountains along with their dog, Scout.
